Heather
Johnson
Her first book, If These Halls Could Talk: A Historical Tour Through San Francisco Recording Studios, was published in May 2006 by Thomson Course Technology. It was selected as a finalist for the 2007 Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research. Her second book, Born in a Small Town: The John Mellencamp Story, Mellencamp’s first definitive biography, was released by Omnibus Press on November 1, 2007. Aside from more than a decade of experience as a pro audio journalist, Johnson has worked on company newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials, band biographies, and press kit components. Johnson served on the Board of Directors for the Nashville Association of Professional Recording Services (NAPRS) from 1995 to 2003, and is currently serving her second two-year term on the San Francisco Chapter of The Recording Academy’s Board of Governors. She moved to San Francisco from Nashville with her cat, Soleil, on April Fool’s Day 2003, and is happy to call the Bay Area home. (Photo by Steve Jennings) |
